On Saturday, July 19, several students from the Double L Ranch participated in the Tri-State Pinto Horse show held in Claremore, OK. Morning classes included Halter, Showmanship, Western and English Pleasure. The afternoon classes were more exciting and much different than regular horse shows, these classes included the bare back dollar, egg and spoon race, water cup race, and the grand finale was the panty-hose race.
Meggan, riding Kiss My Tiara, placed first in Eglish Pleasure Walk-Trot. She also placed in all of her other events. Congratulations, Meggan, on your perserverance!!
Micah, riding IM So Sacred, this being IM So Sacred's first show, placed second and third in all of their classes. Great Job, Micah, for a job well done!!
Taylor, riding Too Much A Doll, won first place in the Bare-Back Dollar Class. She also placed in all of her other events. Awesome Job, Talyor, on your first Western Pleasure Class!!

Look who's winning together... Lisa Ann Yost, riding TS A ZIP OF Scotch, and Micah riding, Kiss My Tiara, taking first place in the Panty Hose Race!! Blowing away the competition by 4 seconds!! Smashing Ladies!!
Lisa Ann Yost, riding Oreo's Tornado, is a three time World Champion Dressage Rider. Lisa swept the competition scoring as much as five points above the other competitors at the Pinto World Show held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lisa also placed fifth overall in the Hunter Hack Class on Oreo's Tornado. Lisa and Oreo were the overall Reserve Open Hunter Type Horse at the Pinto World Show.
Lisa and Corker of a Deal, were Reserve World Champions in Dressage, and then placed seventh overall in Speed Poles. Yes, you read that correctly, this highly trained horse was able to come together and complete a beautiful Dressage pattern, as well as a super-speedy Poles pattern. We had a great show, and look forward to competing again next year.

Dedication and practice are required to win in dressage. Plenty of time and schooling was put in the new dressage arena. The standard-large arena with easy to read letters makes practice less stressful. Concentrate on your test, come practice in our arena, and you too can be a World Champion.
Marissa and Fergie completed their first show together at the River Run Schooling Show. The competition was fierce, but Marissa brought home several ribbons. Look for Marissa and TS A Zip of Scotch at the KJM Schooling show in May.
Several students spent the day at the Double L Ranch celebrating Spring Break. The morning began with a Hippology quiz, the students were asked questions about colors, breeds, and general horse related questions. The session was followed by a round-robin type question and answer period. At the end of the session the students were rewarded with grooming buckets full of goodies for the horses and themselves. Next, the students each decorated their own jump. The creativity just flowed right out onto the jumps, the jumps they completed are awesome!! Look for the completed jumps in future pictures on the website. At mid-day, everyone enjoyed lunch at Chili's. When we returned to the ranch, everyone tacked up for an enjoyable afternoon of riding. It was a fun-filled and exciting day. Come join us at the Double L Ranch. (918) 366-6151.
