The Double L Ranch is a full care boarding and training facility for
horses and riding disciplines. The ranch is located just six miles from
Bixby, Oklahoma off Highway 67 (151st Stret) and Harvard Street South.
With
thirty acres of pastures and new modern training facilities, we can
offer a unique and safe environment for full attention to the needs of
horses and rider alike. The Double L Ranch is one of the few
facilities in the Tulsa area with a fully enclosed, well lit riding
arena (60' x 120') as well as a 150' x 300' outdoor riding arena, and
our newest addition, our 20m x 60m Dressage Arena. Both are large
enough for most disciplines of riding. We limit our care to 15 boarded
horses so that we can oversee the care on an individual basis. Our
clients can choose between the outdoor or indoor stalling for their
horse. Both barns use automated fly spray systems. Horses stand on
comfortable 1" rubber mats with ample room in the 12' x 12' or 10' x
14' stalls. Each is equipped with fresh water (heated
in the winter)
as well as paper shavings for adequate bedding.
Blanketing of horses, electric fans and horse turn out is provided
without additional cost. Other amenities include full size individual
tack rooms to keep your valuables safe, a hot walker, a round pen and
an indoor wash stall. Turnout is available in groups or individually
depending upon the needs and request of the owner.
We strongly
urge the horse to be partnered with at least one other horse as they
are very sociable animals and when not working desire to be horses,
playing, romping and interacting with other horses. Safety of your
horse and other's horses is a major concern. You notice upon entering
the Double L Ranch, an electric controlled gate allows only those
persons who should be on the property to enter and keeps the horses in
the confines of the property. No fence is perfect for all horses but
we have found that our electric (breakaway fence) has provided safety
for our horses.
The Double L Ranch requires all horse to have a
current negative coggins upon entering the property. In addition, all
shots must be maintained throughout the boarding period. A horse
worming program is required as well as recommended essentials for horse
shoeing and teeth floating for the well being of your horses. The barn
manager and trainer lives on site and daily oversees the care and
condition of the facilities. Lisa is an accomplished rider and holds
an Equine Science degree in Horse and Ranch Management.
The
Double L Ranch is dedicated to provide professional and safe care for
your horse as well as provide a place to ride your horse in whatever
discipline you desire.
Let's ride and show together! We think you will find the Double L Ranch will meet all of your horses needs.
